Reception Class and the Early Years Staff joined Father Dixon at Mass on Saturday Night. We listened carefully to a reading from the Gospel according to Matthew, about ensuring we are not boastful. Jesus recognised that some of his people were only doing good things when others were watching.
Jesus told us that we should live humbly. That means that instead of calling attention to how special we are, that we should be modest and remember that in God’s eyes we’re no more – or less important – than others.
This week in Reception class we have been trying to remember:
We do good things because they’re right. Not because someone is watching.
