Year 3 focussed on the pop artist Andy Warhol for our amazing art day. We looked at Warhol’s famous work along with his impressive printing techniques, repeated patterns and use of bold, contrasting colours. Year 3 used his work to create their own repeated patterns using nature in the style of Andy Warhol. We also used different media to colour in our images such as oil pastels, chalk, pencils and pens. We also replicated Warhol’s famous Queen image by colouring in the picture using bright colours. Some of us used collage to decorate the background to really make it stand out. To top it off, the children explored printing by printing their own hand prints onto layered coloured pieces of card. What a fun day we have had!
