The children have been learning all things autumn this week. They have really enjoyed going on autumn hunt walks collecting conkers and autumn leaves. We have made pictures of animals using the things we collected and used our fine motor skills to crack open the chestnuts.
We have been very excited to see the start of the work on our new outdoor area. We love watching what the men are doing.
In Maths we have been thinking all things ‘2’ – how to represent the number in many different ways and form the number. We have also been ordering numbers on autumn leaves.
In phonics we have learned sounds ‘i’ and ‘n’. We have also briefly thought about blending sounds together we have learned to make 2 and 3 letter words (at, in, it, pat, sat, sit, tap etc).
A reminder our handwriting workshop will be Thursday 10th October straight after school for any parents who wish to attend.
Please note we break up for half term on Friday 18th October and children return to school Tuesday 29th October. The Halloween disco is on this first day back after school. The next day (Wednesday 30th October) is our visit to Hardwick Park… a very busy week!
