The children have absolutely loved learning about all things Bonfire Night this week. They have learned the history behind why we celebrate bonfire night then re-told and sequenced the story and made lots of different types of fireworks/bonfire crafts. We also set up our own pretend bonfire and enjoyed ‘roasting’ our marshmallows and drinking hot chocolate around it.
This week we also welcomed our new member of staff into Reception… Miss Cummings. The children love her already and it is great for Mrs Bowes and I to have an extra pair of hands!
The children also loved their first golf lesson with Mr Ross this week. Mrs Bowes was very impressed at how good they were for their first time!
In phonics, we have been looking at tricky words ‘I’ and ‘no’. We talked about how the word ‘no’ would sound if we used the letter sounds to try and blend…it would sound like a made up word instead of ‘no’ and that is why it’s a tricky word.
In number, we have focused on all things number 6.
Just a reminder this Tuesday is our open day 9.30 – 11.30, Wow Wednesday is now 20th November and our first liturgy is Friday 29th November at 9am in the school hall.
Have a lovely weekend everyone 🙂
