Sadly, it looks as though our school may be victim once again to fly tippers. Miss Reid and Mr Dixon noticed a pile of refuse bags hidden in some of the bushes on the road leading out of school this week. Following further investigation, it was clear that it was rubbish that had been dumped – some of it even burned. It’s sad to think that we worked so hard last year, as a community, to clear the mass that had been piled over the years and it has almost gone to waste. Hopefully, with big clean ups happening this half term, we can clear all of the rubbish and try our best to deter ignorant vans and cars from ruining our precious surroundings with their waste.
This year, Eco Council have teamed up with TerraCycle to ensure we reach our target of reducing the schools waste. We have launched the crisp packet recycle scheme with recycle bins place around school for children to dispose of their waste considerately. Watch this space for our next scheme which will begin in the beginning of next half term.
