Earlier today, Year 5 studied the work of Ansel Adams, who was famous for photographing a range of different of landscapes. They then applied what they learned to creating their own North American landscapes using collage techniques.

Today, we have been working on Design & Technology skills in Creative. We have been investigating food originating from European countries and have been learning about the diet of the region and seasonality of foods from across Europe. We even talked about food mileage. We made bruschetta and discussed the flavours and how the ingredients were grown and made.
Our key skills involved a range of techniques such as peeling, chopping, slicing, grating, mixing, spreading, kneading and baking, today.

Year 3A – Fun Run

We are challenging our school community to walk / run as much as possible and to try get sponsored for this. This would raise funds for ‘CAFOD world gifts’ which our Year 6 Mini-Vinnies decided would be a lovely way of helping others in a variety of ways.


As a class, we supported our community by fundraising and collecting pennies before donating our sponsorships and taking part in our school fun run. We ran laps around our school field and had a lovely, energetic start to the morning.

Cave Paintings

As part of our current literacy topic based on the book ‘Cave Baby’ b   y Julia Donaldson, Year 1 have been learning about the Stone Ages and have created our very own cave paintings. To create our 

cave paintings we used a variety of natural resources to paint with, such as sticks, pine cones, conkers and feathers. Amazing artwork Year 1!

Reading Club

Reading Club have really enjoyed reading our recent book ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’. For our final lesson involving this book, we wrote a book review that concluded our learning. We have loved reading this book and can’t wait to explore others!
