Catholic Life & Mission

These are the five core principles that underpin our Diocesan Catholic schools:

  • The search for excellence as an integral part of the spiritual quest.
  • The uniqueness of the individual made in God’s image and loved by him.
  • The education of the whole person based on the belief that the human and divine are inseparable.
  • The education of all with the particular duty to care for the poor and disadvantaged.
  • Moral principles put into practice within a Christian community.

At Sacred Heart, these five core principles are at the core of everything we do to live out our Mission Statement and to ensure that Catholic Life is central in our school and parish community. Our Mission Statement is clear and embedded. It is lived out by every member of our school community. The life and mission of Sacred Heart are deeply rooted in the Word of God. Through the fantastic work of our staff, parents and governors, pupils are very proud of our school and understand the importance of helping those in need. They are wholly committed to following in the footsteps of Jesus and this them to grow in virtue. Pupils take a leading role in responding to Catholic Social Teaching and continually find active ways to support people locally and globally. Here are some examples of what we do in Sacred Heart to contribute to the Catholic Life and Mission of our school:
