During our literacy lessons in Year 6 we have been continuing with our class novel, The Boy at the Back of the Class. On Tuesday, the children put themselves in the shoes of some of our main characters and acted out a scene from the book. We began by looking at the script and identifying the features that were there, for example the names of the characters, setting the scene and stage directions. Once given ample time to practise their scene, the children were able to perform to the class without their scripts! We had some fantastic drama and the children were able to show exactly how their character was feeling.
