Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed creating towers this week as part of our creative unit. We made structures using trays and cup as we took our inspiration from different Greek architecture. Our tower was similar because we used posts and lintels, the Greeks loved making temples so every God had a temple. Our structures looked very similar to the Greek Colosseum which is an ancient Greek structure, which has survived many years.
Once our structures were created, we tested their strength by balancing weights on top. This showed how stable the structure was but also demonstrated how much weight they could hold. We worked together and make a 6 tier structure which was strong enough to hold 8 dictionaries!
