This week Year 6 had a great time in literacy tasting some exotic fruits in literacy, inspired by our class literacy novel (The Boy at the Back of the Class by Onjali Q. Rauf). We had passion fruit and pineapple, mango and watermelon, papaya and pomegranate, and kiwi to taste and describe. Following this, the class had to write a detailed description of the fruit they had selected, remembering to include as much detail as possible. The next day the class was then set the task of drawing the fruit but this time using someone else’s written description. Thankfully we had some amazing descriptive pieces which helped the children to create some wonderfully detailed sketches. Excellent effort everyone!
