In our R.E. lesson we discussed the meaning of expectations. We read a story about expectations of yourself and others which allowed us to think about the concept in relation to our own lives.
We agreed that it is important to have high expectations in life for ourselves and other people. It is also good that people have expectations of us, which allows us to become confident and enforces a sense of belief in ourselves.
Some examples we thought of included our school expectations – such as being smart and in the correct school uniform. Others related to helping one another and being kind and caring human beings.
The children created posters in which they listed their expectations of themselves, but also those they have from family and friends.
