SEND Provision

SEND Provision

The Government has asked all Local Authorities in the UK to publish, in one place, information about the services and provision they expect to be available in their area for children and young people from 0 to 25 who have Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability (SEND). This is known as the Local Offer. Further information about the Gateshead or Durham’s Local Offer can be found using the links at the bottom of this page.

Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School – Our Offer Headteacher and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENCo) – Mrs. L Knox Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School is committed to providing an appropriate and high quality education for all of the children in our school. We believe that all children, including those identified as having special educational needs and disability, are entitled to a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum which is accessible to them, and to be fully included in all aspects of school life.

We are committed to maximum inclusion commensurate with meeting individual needs, the highest quality of education for all children and the efficient use of resources. The school has a stair lift, a disabled parking space, a disabled toilet, low kerbs and ramps to allow children with physical difficulties to access all areas of the school. If you have any questions about our SEND Offer please contact the school and we will try our best to help you.

Statement of Intent for Supporting Equality At Sacred Heart we feel that we have a responsibility to increase each child’s knowledge, experience, and understanding as well as developing their capacity to learn. We recognise that for some children there may be more barriers to overcome in order for them to reach their full potential. The Head Teacher, Staff and Governors at Sacred Heart are committed to the integration of children with special needs and helping them to succeed. If you would like to discuss our Local Offer, have any further questions or require any additional information, please contact the school office to make an appointment on 01207 270 396.
