Today, we have been thinking about our voices when we perform poetry. We have taken the time to discuss our given poems and how they can be expressed in different ways—there is no correct answer! We worked in groups with our performance tips cards and decided how we thought each poem should be best read—quietly or loudly? Softly or with strong emotion? Which words should be expressed most strongly?
We rehearsed our poems and then performed them to the class, justifying our decisions and explaining our choices. This really helped us to get to grips with the meaning behind the poems and was a lot of fun.
