Visitors in School

Visitors have a valuable role to play and can contribute to many aspects of the life and work of the school. They deliver talks, workshops and full day activities across a wide range of subjects, giving pupils access to outside experiences and expertise.

Visitors provide a link with the wider community – children have the opportunity to work alongside artists, musicians, authors, health professionals and others. At Sacred Heart we bring learning to life through a host of visits and visitors.  In the past few years we have welcomed police, firemen, RNLI, representatives from Guide Dogs for the Blind, artists and art historians into school, to name but a few.

In addition, we invest in specialist educational providers such as Music Services and specialist sports coaches.  Excellent partnerships with our local schools also help us to further the experiences of our pupils.

One of the most popular visitors we have in school is Jay's Animal Encounters!! The children get the chance to meet a Lizard, a blue tongue skink, a tarantula, a skunk, a poisonous frog, some scary scorpions, a slithery snake, a cute hedgehog...and the favourite of everyone, Merlin the Meerkat who gets lots and lots of cuddles with the children and staff!!
