Y3B: Roman Artefacts

This week, we have been continuing our work on the Romans by supplementing our learning with an artefacts collection. We looked through the treasures inside and discussed their materials, where they had been found and what we thought they might have been used for. Some of the artefacts included a hairpin, some pottery fragments, a soldier’s helmet and even a copy of Britain’s oldest birthday party invitation, from 100AD. We have recorded this work in our books, but particularly loved getting to grips with history in this way.
