This week we have celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week. This year’s mental health focus is ‘Express Yourself’. Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.
As part of the celebration, we took part in ‘The Superhero Project’, which allowed us to explore our own strengths and super powers. We started our ‘Superhero Project’ by choosing our very own superhero pose…
We then designed and made superheroes who had the same qualities and were fantastic, just like us. The project offers the opportunity for children to build on their confidence, resilience and determination as we all put on their capes and face the future.
We planned our Superheros and and even made sidekicks. The colours and materials we used represent us and our likes and ambitions. We added speech and thought bubbles which included our superhero powers and positive attributes about ourselves because WE ARE ALL SUPERHEROS!
We enjoyed decorating our desks to show our individuality and expressing ourselves through drawing and design.
