Year 4 prepared their end of topic Liturgy all about Reconciliation. The children discussed what they had learnt from the topic, including what the sacrament of Reconciliation is (Confession) and what penance means (saying sorry for your sins). The children then planned their own liturgy be choosing the following:
Gather: Pass around a poppy to remember that Jesus is always with us.
Word: Matthew 22: 36-39 – Love your neighbour as yourself and worship God with all your heart, soul and mind.
Response: To sing a hymn celebrating God’s forgiveness and love (My Lighthouse).
Going Forth: Think of a way to tell someone you are sorry and show that you mean it. Also, to forgive others and love your neighbour as yourself.
The children were very reflective and very much enjoyed singing ‘My Lighthouse’ which you can view below. Well done Year 4!
